Which amp should i go with?

I just got 2 new subs that are 1200peak & 600rms a piece, so 2400peak & 1200rms total, and i was wondering which amp i should get for them? I was debating between a couple of different class d monoblock amps. Which one should I go with?? Or r there any amps better that i haven't listed?

Any of the amps you list is a good choice.

Some things you may not be aware of....

If your total system power is 1200 watts RMS or more, you will need to:

1. Upgrade the "Big 3" - that is to replace (or add to) the power wire between the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis.

2. Upgrade to a yellow top battery

3. Upgrade the alternator to a high output alternator

Failure to do this will result in the early death of the alternator as it will eventually fail.

A second battery is never a good idea as it's an added strain on the alternator to charge two batteries AND supply power for the car. The ONLY time a second battery is useful is if the audio system is to be used with the car off.

A capacitor is only good so far as the audio system isn't trying to pull too much from the electrical system. A cap doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nothing else. If the current isn't there, a cap won't help.

The alternator must have at least 20% more amperage power than the entire vehicle and sound system combined for a cap to be of benefit which is ironically the same requirements for an amp to be efficient.

KDC-MP145 : KDC-MP145 I Love this Product!

I bought this KDC-MP145 for just $54 from amazon (plus $20 shipping) & it definitely beat my expectation as far as sound quality is concerned.

My review is mostly based on the comparison with Pioneer 1900MP player that I owned previosly.

Pros:
Great sound quality.
The cheapest among the great brands such as Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Kenwood itself,..etc.
Plays various formats esp wma. This played wma files (each 2hr duration) that wasn't recognized by my old pioneer.

Pause button - My old player had it only in the remote control. To stop the music in my old player, I either had to hold the power key few seconds or change it to AUX mode.
btw this (KDC-MP145) does not come with remote control, however I don't need one for something that I can reach with my hands!

Cons:
Couldn't read display during sunlight.
Control buttons (1-6) are a bit too small.
No power off button. Have to press SRC twice (from CD mode) to switch it off.
Audio controls where a bit confusing initially but now I got used to it.
Search operation - KDC-MP145 has got a "One folder level up" button, just like windows explorer, which is very useful when you play a music CD with complex sub folder system.

However most of the CDs that I have only has folders at one level. So to browse the folders, I have to press the Search button, then press "Folder level up" and turn the knob left or right to browse. My old pioneer had buttons for going folder up/down which would be more convenient for this situation. (btw the band button skips folder in Fwd direction).

I bought a car that has this stereo in it but it has been left in demo mode. Ive looked at the manual but it doesnt tell me much. Does anyone know?

press and hold the small red button above volume, until you get to the set up menu, then its somewhere in the options, I cant remember any further than that sorry

Im car audio retarded?

I have 2 10' MTX Road Thunder II's hooked up to an old Kenwood KAC-848. I had 2 JBl's 2' speakers on the top of each MTX truck box but have since disconnected them. The problem Im having is my amp is getting freakin hot and blowing fuses if I even attempt to turn the radio up. I have a Kenwood KDC-205 in dash stereo. If you can fix me, I'll send you a Christmas card

That will happen when the speaker impedance is too low. If the amp is 2 ohm stable and you have an impedance total of 1 ohm, the speakers will draw more current than the amp can safely supply. Keep your impedance equal to or greater than the stability limit.

A simple screw driver is enough to do this installation. Of course we need a new stereo which we are going to install. Let us look at the step by step procedure. How is the compatibility check made? It is simple. A harness for wiring and a mount provision for stereo should be present in any system that is compatible. The wires connected to negative terminal of car battery is disconnected. These wires are usually painted black in color. Center console has screws attached to it. These screws are removed by the use of screw driver and the console after being taken out is kept separately.

The stereo that we need to replaced is removed and the harness for wiring is disconnected. The wire of antenna is also taken out from the rear side of the system. Now all these steps should be done in reverse for installation of new stereo. The harness for wiring is attached to the stereo to be installed. This connection is made by adapter for wiring harness.

In the same way wire for antenna also needs to be connected to the rear side of the stereo system. After all these are done the stereo is put into dash.

The last step we should supply power. This can be done by again connecting wire to the battery. The wire is to connected to the negative terminal. This wire will be present usually in black color. The job is done. However it is better to make a final check to see if we have finished installation of new stereo perfectly in our volvo. Just switch on radio. If it plays properly we should pat ourself because we have now become half professional. If it does not work let us not worry . Check if all connections and disconnections are done correctly. The only place where it is little risky top work with is the live wires. So ensure that the battery is switched off.

Radio Dash Kit For Chrysler Grand Voyager

The base model was first launched as Plymouth voyager in year 1974 which was introduced as "magic wagon" to the market meaning its similar to station wagon, the difference is it had more room space and removable seats.

Comparing GRAND VOYAGER minivan with normal voyager it was long both in length and wheelbase, and has more trunk space. The engine model was constantly improvised in the subsequent years which mark the main difference between both the cars otherwise the two vehicles would have been the same.

Three generations of voyager had been released during the year 1988-2001, where the Generation 1 voyagers for the year 1984-1990 showed a remarkable change in its interiors and looks, cars was manufactured with three trim level, lower base, middle SE and high LE. All the generation 1 cars had 5 passenger seating capacity, with two in front and three in back, seven seating capacity were introduced in early years for high end SE/LE models. With two in front, middle two and three in rear. The generation 1 cars showed a remarkable upgrades in engine which offered a variety of capacity from 2.2L to 3.0L, with horse power ranging from 96hp to 150hp,even turbo charged engines were seen in market.

Generation 2 voyager during the year 1991-1995 saw a great change in its appearances with aerodynamic design and sporty looks in higher end, Three categories were launched standard SE, mid end LE, and high end LX were available in the market, sporty features like alloy wheels, fog lamps, increase in performance , central locking where seen in all high end models. The interiors were also changed greatly with compromising look, the second generation voyagers aimed at reducing the production cost and it was a great success than expected. Generation 2 voyagers also saw improvements in safety features like Air bag, Anti braking system with the development of technologies. So, the engines were also upgraded capacity increasing from 3.0L to 3.8L, engine with horse power as high as 165hp were also launched, but production of vehicle with turbo accelerator was stopped during these years.

Generation 3 voyager during the year 1996-2001 introduced automatic transmission, easy out roller seats and sliding doors. More sleek and compact types of voyager with 5 seating capacity, drastic change in exterior and more sophisticated interior models were produced, they were released only has standard and mid end SE types, the sporty model LX types were not produced, the generation 3 similar to generation 2 were welcomed by the majority of people which showed increased manufacturing and selling rate. Four wheel drives were also introduced during the year 1997, engines were upgraded to meet the requirements and performance, horse power was increased to 180hp.

The radio dash kit was a good feature. It supported the radio, and also had four speakers which were put up in the even in the rear. The customer could get radio dash kits in same textures as those of the inside of the car. It was available with adaptors. The purpose of adaptors is to alter the apertures of the dash board for the radio and for playing CD.

Can somebody give me advice on making my audio sound cleaner on my Altima 2.5?

It is a year 2006 and it is a Special Edition:) Since I wanted to connect my Ipod Touch to my stereo, and the aux thing that I purchased at a audio accessory store was not compatible with my stereo, well that's what they told me it was a Scoche brand or something like that. So I bought a 3000 Pioneer stereo, so now I can connect and listen to my iPod. My car's bass already bumps, but I don't wanna blow my speakers, and it doesnt sound as clear anymore. I want to make it sound more clear and of course make the bass sound a little neater. Any tips. We'll I am on a budget like around 500 I don't want to put in too much money into my car right now.

A new head unit and factory speaker does not match at all. If you want clean sound replace your factory speaker with a JBL speakers. MTX or other name brand (Boston, JL, Infinity etc.). JBL has been my favorate since late 70's. Check the size on door speaker (5.25 or 6.5) rear either the same size or they are 6X9. The GT series speaker are JBL's less expensive series. Good luck.

should i replace the speakers in a shaker 500 audio system with pioneer 4 way speakers?

I just got two 4 way pioneer speakers for christmas...i was about to put them in my car now....but i got a chance to purchase a mustang...should i replace the stock speakers with the pioneers or are the speakers that come with the system better?

The pioneer's are probably better but you should make sure the ohm ratings are the same. Take out one of the mustang's speakers and on the magnet it should tell you what the ohm rating it somewhere on there.

New cd's don't work on car stereo?

Right, so i've got a Sony CDX R-3300, YES it CAN play audio cd's and mp3 cd's and cd-r and cd-rw format... So, i use nero 8, tdk cd's, never had problems in the past... but now when i make a new cd, mp3 or audio, doens't matter, they won't work, old audio cd's and mp3 cd's work perfectly, even when they're badly scratched... and when i add more mp3's to old cd's they also work, but new ones won't work, i even tried some cheap crappy brand, doesn't work either... so has something changed in nero or is there somethinig different about new cd's, i'd like to know, cause i'm running out of space on my old cd's...

make another mp3 cd.burn it as data and see what happens.
