If you are old enough, you may remember cruising around town, an 8 track tape playing all your favorite songs. Have times changed! Nowadays, not only do you not have to tote around a bunch of CD's or cassette tapes, you can carry thousands of tunes on one simple little device - an iPod. Using an iPod car adapter will enable you to listen to your favorite tunes, wherever you go.

Some newer model cars come with a built in iPod adapter, which makes things simple. You simply plug your iPod into the built in jack. How can I play my ipod nano (5th gen) through aux cable in my car?

When I connect the cable, the internal speakers of my ipod nano turn on. I switch my head unit to AUX, (like I used to when I used my ipod nano 4th gen) and the head unit doesn't recognize the ipod. The nano just plays the music through the ipod's speakers. It is connected by the thin, flat cable (I do not know the name of it).

New cd's don't work on car stereo?

Right, so i've got a Sony CDX R-3300, YES it CAN play audio cd's and mp3 cd's and cd-r and cd-rw format... So, i use nero 8, tdk cd's, never had problems in the past... but now when i make a new cd, mp3 or audio, doens't matter, they won't work, old audio cd's and mp3 cd's work perfectly, even when they're badly scratched... and when i add more mp3's to old cd's they also work, but new ones won't work, i even tried some cheap crappy brand, doesn't work either... so has something changed in nero or is there somethinig different about new cd's, i'd like to know, cause i'm running out of space on my old cd's...

make another mp3 cd.burn it as data and see what happens.

What You Need To Know About VHF Marine Radios

Without a doubt, VHF marine radios are one of the most essential pieces of safety equipment to be found on a boat. No boat should leave the shore without having at least one on board, as in the event of an emergency VHF marine radios are often the only way of getting in touch with the people who can rescue you. Therefore, although recreational boats less than 65.6 feet in length are not required by law to have VHF marine radios onboard, they definitely should anyway.

Additionally, the Telecommunications Act of 1996 allows recreational boaters to own and use VHF marine radios without having an FCC ship station license, which means that there is no paperwork, classes or any other hassles involved in purchasing and learning to use VHF marine radios. If your boat is big enough to be required to have VHF marine radios onboard or if you plan on taking your vessel into foreign waters, you are required to have a Radiotelephone Operator Permit. To get one, you only have to pay a one time fee. Once you pay the fee and fill out the form, you will have the permit for life, and there are no tests or exams that you are required to pass to get it.

You should turn your VHF marine radios on to channel 16 (156.8 MHz) and monitor it when it is not in use. By doing so, you will hear all of the important marine broadcasts that are sent to VHF marine radios, such as storm warnings and other urgent matters that the Coast Guard may want to alert you to. Recent history is filled with horror stories of boat captains not having their VHF marine radios turned on properly, resulting in many casualties over the years. Additionally, VHF marine radios can help those operating boats from running into each other, causing major wrecks.

Once you have VHF marine radios aboard, there are several different channels that you should know about. For example, channels 16 and 9 are only used for calling other vessels (also known as hailing). If you have trouble remembering which channels you should use in specific instances, write them all down and post them somewhere that everyone can see. In the event of an emergency, you do not want to lose your life because somebody was using the wrong channel on the VHF marine radios.

Why does my monitor and alarm clock freak out when I get a call on my cell phone?

Whenever I send or receive a text, or get a phone call on my cell phone, the computer monitor gets kinda wavy and my radio alarm clock makes weird ticking noises... why? Is this bad?

When all is said and done, a phone is just a bunch of radios - usually at least four or five of them (three bands or more, bluetooth, and sometimes others, as well as wi-fi frequencies). Radios operate using radio frequencies, just like your clock radio; your monitor is also sensitive to them, and that's completely normal. When the phone goes active, it starts sending radio signals as well as receiving them (for instance, to let the person calling know that the phone is ringing, it sends signals to the tower it's "talking" to), and your other items are responding to those frequencies. That's because they each have an antenna of some kind - your clock radio has one built in; your monitor's cable that attaches it to your computer functions as an antenna as well, even though it wasn't really intended to do so.

The first answerer has no idea what she's talking about. The radio frequencies are at such low power, they won't hurt a thing. They CERTAINLY won't harm you or devices intended to deal with them in the first place.

If it really bugs you, get a filter to put on your computer screen's input cord; what you want is called a "band pass" filter, that will filter out all frequencies EXCEPT the ones that your screen works on. It's only annoying, however; it won't actually harm your screen. You can also switch to a flat-panel screen and avoid the problem completely, since they work differently from the big old CRT-type monitors.

My mp3 files keep deleting from my mp3 players when I connect it to my car stereo?

Can i connect an amp & a basstube in my Pioneer DEH-2190UB Car entertainment system?

I want to connect a 2 channel amp & a basstube to my existing pioneer car audio system. Pls tell me if that could be really done.

yes u can connect even if your basstube
is self powered(amplifed= amplifier inside basstube) or not
if it is you just need RCA cable to connect bt with back of HU and
if it is not self powered then connect your amp to HU and then basstube to amplifier.

Car ipod sound system help?

i got this new kenwood audio system in my car. their is a aux port on the back of it (red and white connection). i hooked up my ipod cord to this aux connection and when i have my ipod plugged in i have to have the radio on under the sound of the ipod because there is no source selection for aux. another problem is that i have to use my ipod volume control for the whole car system. when i have the ipod turned all the way up, the speakers make a cracking sound. does anyone know of a better way to hook up my ipod to my car other than an FM connection. or any hardware i can use would be great.
please help this is driving me crazy.

i cant help you with the first part but i can help you with the cracking music, its easy, just dont turn the volume up all the way, ipods make cracking noises when they are, mine did the same thing

I need an Expert on car audio?

I want to get subs on my car. I have a 2006 Ford Mustang GT.

what should I get and what will fit?

I was thinking of getting 2 10" subs (alpine) but i dont know where to find a box that will hold them. I was also thinking of getting the sony eXplod amp but if i get that do i need a new dash deck?

I have a 2006 mustang gt. Heres what i spent two alpine type r's on ebay for $250 total. 1 kenwood 9104d mono class d amp 900w rms on amazon for $120, 1 box from a local audio shop for $125, 1 1farad amp kit for $50 from best buy, 1 pioneer avic d3 from best buy for $999.

So that plus a wire kit and install would be around $1700 but if you don't want a nav screen and just get a pioneer head unit would run you just under $800. You can keep stock deck but why??????

Do not get a sony amp, it will not provide enough power. and once you install everything I'm willing to bet your gonna wanna upgrade that sound system. The shaker 500 sounds nice but once you add all that bass your gonna wanna upgrade
