Xenon Headlights

HID Xenon Headlights- Safety and Style both

HID, High Intensity Discharge refers to lighting technology that relies on an electrical charge to ignite xenon gas in a sealed bulb, similar to the lightning phenomenon in the sky. HID lighting does not have a filament but instead creates light by igniting an electrical discharge between two electrodes in an air tight tiny quartz capsule filled with xenon gas. HID lighting is also called Xenon lighting, referring to the gas inside the bulb.

The lighting system of a vehicle comprises of lights and signal devices bring together to the front, sides and rear of the vehicle. This system helps the driver to drive the vehicle safely in the dark and determine the position, direction of traveling and speed of vehicle. These days sparkling HID Xenon headlights are in trend which makes your vehicle look stunning.

Now these days most of the car manufactures are starting to offer Xenon HID lights as an option to mid range cars and standard equipment for the top vehicles. You can also find these products being offered in the aftermarket. One prominent question is that Is HID xenon lights are meant to safety or style? The answer is for both. The luminosity of this light is much more than that of other lights. You can have idea from this that the light output of Xenon light is 35W but as compared to 55W Halogen bulb but it provides 300% more light. So you can say it offer clear visibility in the night which is the sign of safety. And when we talk about style, if you are having Xenon HID Kits in your vehicle it gives dazzling look to your vehicle at night. So these lights fulfill both functions of safety and style.

Another question here rises is How to know that vehicle has a Xenon HID system? There are several things you can look for. First, a Xenon HID system has a brilliant bluish white appearance where a standard halogen system has a yellowish appearance. Second, the Xenon HID system will output much more light than the standard system. A third item to look for is a "flash" blue and a change of color when the Xenon HID system is first turned on. Lastly, look at the outer lens of your system. If you see "D1S", "D1R", "D2S" or "D2R" it should be a Xenon HID system. If you do not see one of these combinations then you do not have a Xenon HID system

Why do my xenon headlights flicker?

I bought an aftermarket pair of 8000k xenon headlights for my 1999 gmc sierra and they flicker not like a strobe, they are constanly on but they flicker just a little bit... What could this be? Do they just need to be broken in more?
yes It came with the special wire harness that u mentioned i made sure that everything was nice and snug....

I would check for a grounding short, or a problem with the fuse. They may be using more juice than the system allows....
