Why do my xenon headlights flicker?

I bought an aftermarket pair of 8000k xenon headlights for my 1999 gmc sierra and they flicker not like a strobe, they are constanly on but they flicker just a little bit... What could this be? Do they just need to be broken in more?
yes It came with the special wire harness that u mentioned i made sure that everything was nice and snug....

I would check for a grounding short, or a problem with the fuse. They may be using more juice than the system allows....

no it doesnt. the xenon bulbs have a small blue effect but they do not light up anywhere close to an hid light will also the hid kits are made to burn hotter but to give you a certain scatter of light so that it wont be to blinding for drivers coming at you you or infront of you. the xenon will blind other drivers it will be like having your highs while your lows are on. if you can get teh hid kit go with that its better and safer for everyone. had the xenons on a crx and the hid kit on a civic sedan. huge difference.

How Do LED Grow Lights Offer A Superior Grow Solution?

There are many different types of grow lights available for indoor gardening.  You will see HID, high intensity discharge; MH, metal halide; and HPS, high pressure sodium, grow lamps advertised for use in greenhouses and all types of indoor plant growing situations.  LED grow lights are also now available, and offer a superior solution to indoor plant lighting than was previously available.  

Lightweight

The LED grow light is quite a bit lighter in weight than other types of traditional grow lamps.  This is because HID, MH and HPS lights all require the use of a ballast in order for them to function properly.  Reflectors, to cast a larger pool of light on the plants, are also used with HPS light bulbs and others, adding to the bulk of the equipment.  Because the lights are usually suspended in some fashion over the plants, weight is an important consideration, especially if lights must be regularly raised and lowered for plant maintenance chores, such as watering, to occur, as well as an appropriate distance from the plants to be adhered to.  With certain high-end LED grow lights, they come with built-in fans, negating the need for air-cooled reflectors and ducting.

Ability To Change Light Spectrum

Plants grow best under certain light spectrums based on the plants' stages of growth.  Young seedlings get the light they need to grow strong and sturdy stems when they are grown under the blue light spectrum offered by HPS lights, among others.  Mature plants that are ready to reproduce and set fruit or flowers require light in the red and orange spectrum, which certain HPS lights make available.  You can find an HPS light bulb that is geared toward blue or red spectrum, but it does not have the ability to offer both spectrums.  This means that you will need to start out with one grow lamp bulb, and then will need to change it out as the plants mature.  

All of this is simpler when you use an LED grow light.  LED grow lights offer you a single lamp that will produce both red and blue light spectrums.  Better quality LED grow lights utilize knobs that you simply turn to change the spectrum of the bulb.  

LED Lights Cost Less To Operate Than HPS Light Bulbs

Although the initial purchase price of an LED light is often more expensive than an HPS light, there is a big price difference is the cost of operating the different grow lamps.  Superior LED grow lights use only one-eighth the electricity to produce the same amount of light as an HPS grow lamp, saving you much money over the life of the grow light.  The tiny LED diodes can also be configured by the manufacturer in order to offer a larger lit area than traditional grow lamps.

The choice is clear:  LED lamps are the way to go for indoor garden lighting.

How to Choose a Hid Conversion Kits – Briefly Introduction

Four Common HID Kits

Most of the HID Conversion Kits on the market are 35W/12V, you need 24V for a truck. Some hid kits are using 55W, so buyer has to read the specifications carefully.

Color Temperature:

HID Color temperature refers to the degrees (K) , which simply the measures of the color for the lighting output, like golden yellow, white, crystal white, blue …

Degree (k) refers only to the color, while lumen refers to the lighting intensity. So the higher the color temperature (degrees K) doesn’t mean a higher light intensity (lumen). Here is the summary for the common color temperature on the market --

3000K (Golden Yellow) , 4300K (Bright White), 5000K (white), 6000K (Crystal White),8000K (Crystal Blue), 10000K (Aqua Blue), 12000K (Purple-Blue).

Does HID Conversion need relay harness?

Becuz it was working fine w/o harness but now.. it doesn't work any more.

A conversion to actual HID's requires alot more than just a harness.

High wattage aftermarket bulbs may well require a seperate relay set and harness because they draw more current then factory bulbs.

If I knew what kind of vehicle/lights, I could maybe be more specific.

Installing an HID Conversion Kit

HID bulbs are rated to last up to eight hours longer than the conventional bulbs in your vehicle. HID automotive lighting provides superior light output to your standard tungsten filament bulbs. For these reasons, HID Conversion Kits have become increasingly popular in the last ten to five years. There are plenty of colors to choose from, so many sizes available, and they can be installed in almost any vehicle. Check out the local laws in your area before you install and keep the following step by step tips in mind.

1. First you need to remove your factory headlight bulbs. You may need to remove the headlight bezel as well.
2. Then, replace these bulbs with your new HID bulbs. Be careful to not touch the HID bulb glass without the use of gloves. The oils present on human skin will heat up the bulb and damaging can occur.
3. Then, plug the HID bulbs into the ballasts which come with your HID kit. Be sure to test out the HID ballasts wiring for length. Hid lights use a special type of wiring that typically cannot be extended.
4. After that you will want to mount the ballasts as close to the headlight bulbs as possible. To do this securely, you probably want to use self-tapping screws and nylon wire to mount with. Keep in mind that you never want to mount the ballasts where they can be exposed to excessive amounts of heat or moisture. Once these are mounted, you can then connect the factory headlight harness to the ballast in order to trigger the HIDs.
5. Finally, test the HIDs for their proper operation functionality. It might take up to ten seconds for the bulb to completely illuminate. Once you’ve reached the proper operation, you can replace the headlight bezel.

Tips and Warnings? Just be sure that your HIDs are legal in your area before you begin to install and operate on your local roads. Again as mentioned before, never touch the HID bulbs with your bare hands. Before handling a ballast, always disconnect the power. Other than that, installing HID Conversion Kits is a piece of cake. Get a brighter, longer lasting HID bulb and see for yourself!

how to install HID's on a pontiac g6?

I just spent an hour trying to install them. I don't think they are plug and play.. the wires that provide the power to the ballast has two prongs, but i do not know where those prongs fit because it does not fit into my factory harness that powers my head lights....do you have any specific directions for installing them on 2005 Pontiac G6. secondly the factory wires for my highbeams and lowbeams and turn signals are fitted into the one factory grommet. so once i install the HID bulb, i have to retrofit the wires so that it just pokes out the side of the factory grommet because it is impossible to cut it without losing my highbeams.... any suggestions??

Dump them and get a plug and play kit. I got a set for my GTO, easy install and no wire cutting.
