Which amp should i go with?

I just got 2 new subs that are 1200peak & 600rms a piece, so 2400peak & 1200rms total, and i was wondering which amp i should get for them? I was debating between a couple of different class d monoblock amps. Which one should I go with?? Or r there any amps better that i haven't listed?

Any of the amps you list is a good choice.

Some things you may not be aware of....

If your total system power is 1200 watts RMS or more, you will need to:

1. Upgrade the "Big 3" - that is to replace (or add to) the power wire between the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis.

2. Upgrade to a yellow top battery

3. Upgrade the alternator to a high output alternator

Failure to do this will result in the early death of the alternator as it will eventually fail.

A second battery is never a good idea as it's an added strain on the alternator to charge two batteries AND supply power for the car. The ONLY time a second battery is useful is if the audio system is to be used with the car off.

A capacitor is only good so far as the audio system isn't trying to pull too much from the electrical system. A cap doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nothing else. If the current isn't there, a cap won't help.

The alternator must have at least 20% more amperage power than the entire vehicle and sound system combined for a cap to be of benefit which is ironically the same requirements for an amp to be efficient.

If your looking for bass, you may not get what your after since a trunk is VERY hard to seal air tight.

What are good Brand Car Audio Speakers?

I have a 2002 Honda civic Dx Coupe and i was wondering what are good brand speakers that i could put in to replace my stock ones. I would like something that is inexpensive and the quality has to be good and something that has good bass also. Right now i have an aftermarket Sony xplod deck that i just bought a few days ago. I was thinking that Alpine speakers would work but im not sure.

Kenwood Bringing More Music to Your Car

Im car audio retarded?

I have 2 10' MTX Road Thunder II's hooked up to an old Kenwood KAC-848. I had 2 JBl's 2' speakers on the top of each MTX truck box but have since disconnected them. The problem Im having is my amp is getting freakin hot and blowing fuses if I even attempt to turn the radio up. I have a Kenwood KDC-205 in dash stereo. If you can fix me, I'll send you a Christmas card

That will happen when the speaker impedance is too low. If the amp is 2 ohm stable and you have an impedance total of 1 ohm, the speakers will draw more current than the amp can safely supply. Keep your impedance equal to or greater than the stability limit.

Toshiba Launches Direct Methanol Fuel Cell in Japan as External Power Source for Mobile Electronic Devices

TOKYO—Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502), a world leader in the development of fuel-cell technology for handheld electronic equipment, today announced the launch of its first direct methanol fuel-cell product: Dynario, an external power source that delivers power to mobile digital consumer products. Dynario, together with a dedicated fuel cartridge for refueling on the go, will be launched in Japan,  in a limited edition of 3,000 units only, and will be exclusively available at Shop1048 , Toshiba's direct-order web site for digital consumer products in the Japanese market. Orders will be accepted from October 22, and shipping will start on October 29.

The power consumption of mobile electronic devices, including mobile phones, has greatly increased with added functionality, including TV reception and Internet connectivity. As a result, battery exhaustion has become a major concern. Dynario's DMFC delivers almost instant refueling that untethers electrical equipment from AC adapters and power outlets. It runs on mix of methanol and ambient oxygen, and the chemical reaction between the two in the fuel cell produces electricity.

Toshiba recognizes the DMFC as a high potential solution for portable equipment and is promoting intensive technology and product development, including improved practical use and downsizing.

The palm-sized Dynario is Toshiba's first DMFC product. Once fueled with an injection of methanol solution from its dedicated cartridge, Dynario starts to generate electricity that is delivered to a digital consumer product—a mobile phone or a digital media player—via a USB cable. On a single refill of methanol which can be made in an instant period (around 20 seconds), Dynario can generate enough power to charge two typical mobile phones.

Dynario™ integrates Toshiba's state-of-the-art fuel cell technology, allowing it to operate with only a small volume of concentrated methanol solution, reducing the size and weight of the fuel tank and the overall product. An ingenious fuel feed structure realizes uniform methanol delivery, and stable output to any attached device is fine-tuned by a built-in microcomputer. Performance is also optimized by Dynario's hybrid structure, which uses a lithium-ion battery charged by the fuel cell to store electricity. The dedicated fuel cartridge was co-developed with Toyo Seikan Kaisha, Ltd., one of Japan's leading packaging container companies.

Dynario and its fuel cartridge fully comply with the International Electrotechnical Commission's safety standards (provisional edition).

Toshiba will gauge customer reaction and opinion from the Japanese release of Dynario and reflect them in the development of future DMFC products.

Can I join two difference gauge size cables together without causing any problems?

My son has a new fishing boat and he has asked me to wire up the new navigation lights, deck lights and radio that he bought.
The deck lights and radio came with there own power cable. But the navigation lights didn't. The power cable I have is slightly thicker than the wire coming out of the two navigation lights.

It should be ok. A heavier guage wire is better than too thin a guage. The heavier guage can carry a heavier load (obviously), and shouldn't cause problems. I had to rig up a hot cable for my van battery for a temporary use. It hasn't caused any problems so I haven't gotten around to re-rigging it yet. Works just fine. Going with a heavier guage is always better than going with too light a guage.
