1991 Audi V8Q charge voltage?
Friends, what is the charging voltage (measured at the terminals of the battery) is supposed to un 1991 V8Q? My fault on the battery indicator is still happening, especially when the lights are on. I measured 13.65 V at the terminals with the lights off, 13.45 V, with the lights on. Should be okay? Battery is 2 years old, brush / Package diode was replaced a year ago. Salto began a wretched soul driving a Volvo today, its battery was very dead, much worse than I thought, and I initially tried to jump without my car up and dragged battery right down, I had to start my car and let the Volvo cargo POS for a bit before they start. Do you think people damaged something, such as battery maybe?
Have your battery fully charged and then load the test. If it passes the load test, has another problem. You might possibly have a problem alternator. You could have probably blown a diode inside the alternator. You must be the measurement nearest to 14 volts with the lights off. 13.65 is well, but think it should be higher. With the battery light comes on it and slightly lower voltage, it sounds like a diode leaks. Try to find a store self starter-alternator, which should be able to help. If you take the alternator off the car, it can be proven in a tester machine draws, and bad diodes. In Some places may have the equipment to determine a bad alternator without removing it.
